Which Ones Are Actually Hard
Use the unlock rate as a difficulty signal (snapshot: Aug 22, 2026). Under 2% is the "deliberate setup" tier: Handyman (0.4%), Fishipedia (0.3%) and Bean (0.1%). The 2-10% tier needs real preparation: Collector (5.5%), Everyone's dream (2.2%). Most of the 10-50% tier is reachable while you play normally, and everything above 50% unlocks naturally.
Do not read too much into any single percentage — launch-window rates are skewed toward early adopters, and they move every day. The requirement text matters more than the number.
The Boss Line
Five boss achievements form the story spine, and their unlock rates fall in order: Who stole my beer (91.3%) → Terrorizing bird (23.9%) → Deadliest catch (12.9%) → We are so back (12.7%). The rates confirm how few players reach the later fights — and why the boss guides matter.
Handyman sits on top of that line: the final boss killed with bare hands, held by only 0.4% of players.
The Three-Pass Route to 100%
Trying to combine story, collection, gambling, trick shots and boss challenges in one run creates more problems than it solves. A cleaner structure is three passes:
- Pass 1 – finish the story. Follow island progression and let quest achievements unlock naturally. Do not delay a story boss because you still want a roulette roll or another drip creature — progression gives you better bait, weapons, boat upgrades and access.
- Pass 2 – clear the systems. Once the mechanics are unlocked, work through the skill, cooking, gambling, gear and boat achievements: Noob, Impressive, 360 no scope, Grillmaster, Yummy in my tummy, Competitive eating, Fully equipped, I am speed, GOLD GOLD GOLD, All in, Let me go and Everyone's dream. Most only need one correct setup.
- Pass 3 – the deliberate ones. Collector and Fishipedia (full collection), then Bean on a dedicated sub-1-hour run, and Handyman using the final hit with bare hands.
