How to Fish Trick Shots & Killscore – Multiplier Guide
Updated Aug 23, 2026 · mechanic details from the official Steam description and launch-day community guides (How to Fish Game Wiki, Aug 21, 2026 snapshot) cross-checked with our achievements guide
How does Killscore work in How to Fish? Trick shots raise your Killscore multiplier on a kill, and a higher multiplier means the catch sells for more money. It is both an economy tool and the key to three achievements: Noob (no multiplier), Impressive (5x) and 360 no scope.
What Killscore does
The official Steam description confirms trick shots increase the money earned from kills. The multiplier applies to the sale value of the creature you kill, so a styled kill is worth more than a plain one. Killscore, cooking, valuable late-game creatures and gambling all feed into the same goal — selling one item worth 100,000+ for the Rich! Millionaire achievement.
Conditions the game can recognize (community-compiled, not an official formula): head shot, one-shot kill, point blank, no scope, 360, quick scope, last-bullet kill, kill steal and overkill. Stacking several conditions raises the final multiplier toward 5x.
Why it matters
- Money: a 5x Killscore kill sells for noticeably more — useful during money runs and for Rich! Millionaire.
- Achievements: Noob wants a kill with no multiplier, Impressive wants 5x, and 360 no scope needs a full-spin unscoped kill.
- After the achievements: you only keep styling kills when you deliberately want the sale boost — otherwise plain kills are faster.
Practice setup (do not start on a boss)
Boss movement, large health pools and expensive setup make it hard to tell whether your input or the encounter caused a failed attempt. Use a normal creature:
- Choose an ordinary creature and isolate it from NPCs, terrain traps and other catches.
- Reduce its health first, leaving enough that an accidental graze will not end the attempt before your trick.
- Create a safe gap — you need room to rotate without the creature colliding with you.
- Use the trick only for the finishing hit — this makes the success condition easy to read.
- Check the multiplier feedback. If the game records no multiplier, simplify the motion and repeat on another normal target.
360 no scope, step by step
The requirement is literal: complete a full rotation, then land the killing shot without the scope. A clean input sequence:
- Lower the creature to finishing range.
- Move to open ground.
- Keep the scope off.
- Complete one full rotation.
- Fire the killing shot.
Avoid starting the spin while pressed against the target. If it does not unlock, check three things before changing weapons: the rotation was complete, the killing shot was unscoped, and the target died from that shot rather than a delayed environmental effect.
The skill achievements at a glance
| Achievement | Requirement | Practice idea |
|---|---|---|
| Noob | Kill with no Killscore multiplier | Direct finishing shot, no extra movement |
| Impressive | 5x Killscore multiplier | A crowded fight with a Shotgun is the safest place to stack conditions |
| 360 no scope | Full spin + unscoped kill | Complete rotation, scope off, final hit |
| Easy | Kill a boss within 10 seconds | Prepared high-damage run — not early exploration |
| Everyone's dream | Kill a seagull with dynamite | Separate explosive setup from trick-shot practice |
